He:
-Is getting more baby-like every day, which is so super fun. Smiling, grabbing at toys, and generally just acting like a tiny human instead of like a cuddly blob that cries. (I mean, I LOVE babies. But let’s be honest.) It’s like he’s a butterfly emerging from the cocoon of newbornhood.
– “Is so happy when he’s not crying.” (-My dad). Which basically sums up the entirety of Theo at this age. So sweet and so happy and so freaking adorable…except he does cry. Though that is definitely getting less frequent and more manageable. Hooray!
– Is not interested in bottles. No, thank you. Cute that you’re trying, though.
– Has taken “morning naps” that are several hours long lately. I haven’t attempted to get him on a real bedtime (aside from, like 9 or 10 pm when I’m getting in bed) or schedule at all, but I’m crossing my fingers this means good things for when naps are a real thing.
– Still sleeps right next to us and will be in our room for the foreseeable future. I’m in no rush to kick this cutie out. (Plus, we’re in a two bedroom apartment.)
– Still super into pacifiers and bouncing on the yoga ball. And starting to like toys and pulling my hair.
– Peed all over Gabe. I couldn’t stop laughing because OMG REALLY. REALLY? Is this real life? Real life is hilarious.
Theo in action:
I:
– Used to be super nervous about nursing Gabe in public when he was a baby (and never really did it save for a handful of times), but I’ve become quite the expert at nursing in public pretty much everywhere – at a street festival, on a bench at the park, and my personal confidence triumph: the grocery store while Theo was in the Ergo. Heck yes. No one can even tell (thanks to Undercover Mama tanks) It’s not that I’m nursing to make a point or anything, but this kid isn’t really on a schedule, so sometimes he gets hungry where ever we are. And, like me, he seems to go from “Hey, I could use a snack” to “OMG FEED ME NOW I AM GOING TO RIP SOMEONE’S HEAD OFF” in about 20 seconds. Instead of letting him scream and ignoring what he needs because I’m uncomfortable doing it, I’ve tried to be a little courageous for my baby.
– Try not to look at the clock (okay, my phone) in the middle of night when he wakes up. I’ve realized that knowing the time and calculating how much sleep I’m getting doesn’t really help. I’m sleeping enough to not be tired, so why worry?
– Signed up for my first post-baby race! And my first race in, like, almost two years. (A costumed 5K the weekend before Halloween!) I figure I’ll be able to run 3.1 miles in a few weeks if I can do 2.3 now, right? (Postpartum getting back into shape is sloooooow. Or at least when you’re cautious like me and don’t want to overdo it. Let’s just say no one has ever accused me of being an exercise overachiever.) Speaking of getting into shape, I am down about three more pounds this month. I fit into my pre-Theo jeans, so number schumber, right? It’s only took me 12 weeks to get to the same point I was 2 weeks postpartum with Gabe, but who’s counting? (Me. I am. I am counting. I want to wear my clothes!) (But I also want donuts. Am conflicted.)
– Am managing better since I’ve had babysitters in here a few times a week. I can actually work! And earn money! And keep the house clean! Miracle of miracles! Feeling like I’m getting into the two-kid groove a little more. Most of the time.
His “OMG I’m so happy my face can’t contain this smile and I look angry” face.
Yep. We’ll keep him.

Holy Theo cuteness. These pictures just brightened my day, so thank you!
Way to go on signing up for the race. You can totally do it, I know you can. Glad the babysitters are working out & that you are doing what you need to do for your baby and yourself re: breastfeeding in public. It’s natural, it’s necessary and it’s part of being a parent. I still don’t get what the big deal is regarding the whole nursing in public thing ( as in, why people are offending/make a stink about it).

That darling little swirl in his hair!!! And the eyes! And the cheeks. He is super adorable! And already 3 mos?

AH, love this baby- he is so cute :) (just like Gabe who is also the cutest)
Yay for you for doing a 5K! And nursing in public. Max is on a schedule and has been since very young, even still sometimes you just need to be out at 1 o’clock even if the baby eats at 1. I didn’t NIP much at first because Max took so freaking long to eat (so unless I was going to be somewhere for the next hour, it wasn’t worth it ha ha) but by the summer I was doing it frequently. I now will nurse whenever, wherever and basically have no shame. I dare someone to question me haha… but seriously, I’ve never ever received so much as a dirty look from anyone. I think most people don’t care or at least keep their negative (absolutely STUPID) thoughts to themselves ha ha.
Yay babysitters!

Theo is adorable! I was so shy about nursing in public with Topher but it wasn’t a big deal at all with Ellie. If she needed to eat, she ate. I was discreet about it but I wasn’t hiding out in the car like I did with Topher :) I’m glad you were able to find childcare ~ I look forward to my few hours a week to actually GET STUFF DONE! It’s a bit ridiculous how quickly I can clean the entire condo when I’m not dragging one of my sidekicks around on my foot!

THAT FACE!!!! And peeing on his brother? Classic.

The Theo-peeing-on-Gabe made me laugh. Yep! Life is crazy with kids… lol :)
Good luck with the 5K, that one sounds fun!
The pictures melt me every time. I love your sweet family–you guys are just beautiful together. I’m so happy for you! <3
