3 years later… I’m reading this because I got sucked into the internet before bed and looked under your frugal living category as I’ve been mad stressing/obsessing about our financial planning. So many of these numbers blow my mind and seem impossible. $50 for car insurance!? Ours is more than 3 times that! Is that all because of 2 accidents and 2 speeding tickets? Do you have some crazy magic trick? $300 for groceries still never ceases to amaze me. Finally, I’m kind of surprised that you two were making about the same amount I am now back in 2010! Anyway, there’s my “I’m so shocked” rant.

Sorry, but I have to cry foul too. I am ONE person, and I pay $450 for car expense, $300 for insurance, internet — internet, NOT cable — is over $100 … endless expenses. And I am not in some major metropolitan area. I dunno. no way.

This post is 7 years old. :) We have no car payment and our car insurance is $80 a month now. Internet is $45. Our housing costs are double now since we moved.
