Last weekend, something I’ve been wanting to happen for a long time did: I took Mike and Gabe to see the farm I spent a week at last summer.
My friend Laura (hi Laura!) who lives there asked us at the beginning of the weekend what our hopes and dreams were for the weekend. Mine? Relaxing and letting Gabe see animals.
I did get some beloved hammock time (albeit a little chilly), but perhaps the best part was all the NOTHING we did. Lots of sitting around chatting, reading, and just being.
Also, this:
Yep. Gabe had the time of his life and a new best friend – a three-year-old girl who lives on the farm. He told me she misses him and that he should go back to the farmhouse. True love.
They fed donkeys apples:
And held hands all day long:
Oh, and animals? Gabe got to hang out with a dog, cat, chickens, horse, donkeys, and cows.
He even got to get an egg out of the henhouse! (I think that’s what it’s called?)
It was a wonderful, rejuvenating weekend with old and new friends on the top of a mountain in a West Virginia. I love that I got to share such a special place with the most special people in my life!
What a lovely time! The photos of Gabe and the little girl are just darling.
Those pictures of Gabe and his friend made me go awww. which is saying a lot because I’m not what you’d call a “kid person”
Gabe and his little girlfriend are so cute! Love the pics of them together!
OMG I am dying over the pictures of Gabe holding hands. So cute.
What farm is that? Is it open to the public? I live near WV now and it sounds really fun.
Too freakin’ cute. I love these farm photos.

When I was looking at the pictures in this post I was thinking to myself, “Hey, that looks like West Virginia!” It’s been my home for a few years now and it is a beauty of a state.
Sounds like an amazing weekend:)
I thought it was not possible for Gabe to be any cuter but I was wrong because these pictures are ADORABLE. So glad you had such a nice relaxing weekend!
OMG. I cannot even DEAL with those pictures of Gabe holding hands with his new friend. Oh, my heavens. So sweet!
What a great restorative weekend! And those pictures of Gabe and his new bestie? PRICELESS!
This looks and sounds so good. A weekend of reading and no work. I need it.
AH! Love it Ashley! So glad I got a shout out. Those pictures are so adorable.
The farm is where Ellen and I reconnected. It’s funny thinking that she and I walked around that land falling in love again. It’s a special place.
Awww. :)
Just over here smiling at my computer looking at the wonderful pictures.
well this is just the most adorable. gabe and the little girl is such a precious pair, love it.
I love this farm, too. It has been far too long since I visited. I still go there in my mind when I need to escape to a mountain looking over a garden and farm animals…..
