If I were real fashion blogger, I wouldn’t show you this skirt again.
But since this is about real life and not an image, hey! I wear this skirt a few times a month! I usually pair it with a bright jewel tone shirt because I don’t really like wearing black. Color is my friend!
I am drawn toward any clothing that is the deep teal of this top. Which is why I have a cardigan and a tank top in this color. I wanted to get a pair of colored jeans in this color, but Mike convinced me to get purple ones instead.
These boots were a gift from my husband, and in return, I gave him a pair of running shoes I found on shoehero.com. I think it’s just about the most adorable thing ever when Mike picks out clothes for me. They are really versatile boots – hardy enough for plodding through snow, but not too ugly to wear to work. And the adjustable buckle makes them fit well on my calves. They’re made by Simple Shoes, but apparently Simple has stopped making shoes. Which is such a bummer because they were a very eco-conscious company – committed to making 100% sustainable products. RIP Simple shoes. (They still have these boots on sale in brown and black, though. Somehow.)
Since I like color, I wore raspberry heather colored tights. I’m thinking I’ll try brighter tights next time.
I have to be honest. When I wore this outfit, I felt hot. (What? I did, okay?) When I look back at these pictures, I am not sure if it goes together well enough. Particularly my beloved boots. Alas, for they make wearing tights in cold weather more bearable.
Whenever I wear my hair in a high ponytail, I feel a wee bit cheerleader-ish. Rah rah!
This shirt is sort of a mock turtleneck deal with a ruched neckline. I think mock turtlenecks are mocked. But I love this shirt, so whatever. Mock me!
Skirt: LOFT // Tights: Target, raspberry heather // Boots: Simple // Shirt: Express. a million years ago // Purse (not really part of the outfit, but it’s just lying there, asking to be included): Target Converse (No longer there, but I sort of like this one. $15!)

i like it! i think it could go ultra-glam with heels, but that the colors and textures totally work together for a weekday with spunk. love it when you link up!

When I first looked at the outfit, I really liked it. Subtle use of colors and the POW of the skirt design. It wasn’t until you pointed out the possible mismatch with the boots that I started to second guess my initial “I like it!” Point being, don’t over analyze and you’ll continue to love it! =)

For my forty-five year-old self, I am a bit more match-y, but I like the look on you!

I think the outfit is really cute, as are the boots, but since you’re so petite and the outfit is very slim, the boots overwhelm it. I think flats or heels would look great. Otherwise, I love the color combo!

WHAT!?!?! NO MORE SIMPLES? This is epically tragic.

I LOVE Mock turtlenecks, partially because when I wear a regular one I feel like I’m being choked and I HATE that feeling. You’re adorable all the time and this outfit is included in the adorableness.

LOVE the skirt. It’s so fun! Pairing with a bright color is a must!

Are you kidding?! The boots totally blend. I love this outfit! That teal-y color is one of my most beloved colors. I also love snow leopard print! Oh and those boots are absolutely ADORABLE. I love the detail in the back!!!

The combination works for me! I’m bummed to hear Simple isn’t making shoes anymore. I loved a pair a friend was wearing recently and completely forgot to look them up when I got home.

That is such a cute outfit, I love the wild skirt!

I really like the way you put this outfit together and like all the individual pieces. I think the one way it could look just a little more pulled together is that since the top is a bright colour and the skirt is a pretty attention-getting pattern, I think grey tights would tie it all together better as a neutral. I think the rest of the outfit is pretty WOW! without purple tights as well. As you’ve put it together, it looks really funky and fun. If you want it to look just a little more sleek, I would stick to only one bright coloured item with that skirt (or if you want two, maybe both from the same colour family?) So I would do grey tights instead of purple with the teal top (or maybe some fun teal tights!) or I would do a black top instead of teal with the purple tights. What do you think? What a fun outfit idea!

I think it’s adorable!

I don’t care what you say, this outfit is adorable! :)

I think you’re really pulling off this outfit, and I also think it has a lot to do with how great you felt wearing it! I’m a big believer that you really can pull off any look you want, you just have to believe in it :) Bright colors suit you!

Just wanted to let you know (fashionably late :-)) that I just saw a similar skirt at H&M and just about died and went to heaven .. because I LOVED the outfit when I saw it on you! I bet a purple shirt (not too dark) would look really nice as well! At H&M the skirt + purple t-shirt would come at about EUR 30 ! Not too bad! Plus I’ll challenge myself and wear it to the office with the purple or a black shirt (I’m a lawyer so conservative alarm) :-) Thanks for the inspiration!!!
