(I’m going to start responding individually to the comments from my last post, but thank you so much for the outpouring of love and support. ❤ It means so much.)
February Update-
Get my medical records. // Half done – I still need to get local midwives records because I can only go at noon and it hasn’t worked out that Mike is home so I can go. Happy story, though – the OB in Ohio charges $3.60 a page for the first 10 pages, then like a dollar a page after that. But she ended up being able to give them to me for freeeeeee. Sometimes people have pity on you when you say the words, “I had two stillbirths last year.”
Contact maternal fetal medicine specialists in Boston. // Erm, nope. Waiting to get my medical records from local midwives before I do so.
Make a PCP appointment. // Yep. First physical in…forever next week.
Do a phone bootcamp. // I did one and am finishing another.
Finish couch to 5K. // Dooooone.
Decide about spring break. // Decided. :)
Get a character development book for Gabe. // About to pick up the lesson plan book today!
March Intentions & Goals-
Do something thoughtful or nice for Mike daily. // My Lent thing! I’m going to make a giant list – of big and little stuff (little stuff like – clean out his lunch box for him. I usually don’t because it’s not mine, but: marriage. Blah blah blah be nicer.)
Read to Theo for at least 10 minutes a day outside of bedtime. // Don’t judge me for forgetting to read to him outside of bedtime, but sometimes life gets busy and reading to my kids is my faaaaaavorite so I want do so.
Plan our summer. // Three week road trip out west? Montreal? Maine again? DC? Vermont? I feel a frantic urge to cram in all the travel in the summer since it’s the best time of year and Mike has time off work.
Do 10 minutes of weights at least 3 times a week. // Easing into more weights again. 43 weeks of pregnancy in one year with no baby to nurse and help me lose the baby weight is taking a toll on this body of mine.
Fix the shade in the back of the car. // Road trip prep so Theo can nap. :)
Starting training for a half marathon. // !!!!!
Get my hair cut. // First in more than a year.

Hi Ashley!
I would recommend not going to DC in the summer, especially July and August, as it is super hot and humid. Temps are generally in the 90s and it feels like 100s. When I lived there and parked my (black) car outside, I saw temps that read 116 when I got in (which was obviously not the true temp, don’t worry, the accurate reading was 101). Your travels are always so fun so I’m sure you’ll pick somewhere great!

I love your posts, I only “know” you from your blog, but I really admire you and the way you balance work, family, life — your family is absolutely beautiful! I’m sending you hugs from Texas, and I wish you all the best this year.

+1 for DC. If Gabe still likes trains taking him on a (semi) long distance one might be better than the trip itself!

Oh man, my plan is to work out at home with weights starting this summer. I go twice a week to the gym, but with work plus kids plus marriage, it just never works out. If you have a good weights routine, would you mind posting it? (Right now mine is basic stuff–lunges with weights, squats with a super light barbell, etc.)

Reading to Riley outside of bedtime is a daily goal of mine too that somehow passes me by. Reading to kiddos is just so fun and it’s so easy to forget to do. And hurray for summer road trips! I can’t wait to see where you guys decide to go, I love your trips, they always inspire me to find new places.
