I have been tagged by Dana from Just Talk for the “Six Truths/Facts/Quirks About Me” thing! So here I go…
I decided to do this illustrated, just to have a little more fun with it!
ONE
I love baking and cooking. LOVE. But with only two people to eat whatever it is I make, unfortunately things get wasted fairly regularly around here. Creating food is really therapeutic for me, but I try to cut down recipes now so I don’t make a TON of something. Especially if I burn it…or it’s a really nasty recipe. (But I still love the process. EVEN cleaning up the dishes! No, I do not want to come to your house and do your dishes. Thanks, though, for asking.)
TWO
I’m a rule follower. To the max. If I’m playing a board game and a rule is in question, you just KNOW I have to verify that by whipping out the rule sheet from the box and announcing to everyone what the rule really is. I think this is intertwined with the fact that I’m unashamedly competitive (think: Monica Gellar. Oh yes, “The rules help control the fun!”)
THREE
I lose things like you would not believe. I’ve lost half a dozen drivers licenses, credit and debit cards. Just two weeks ago, I got a call from the bank telling me they’d found my husband’s debit card. YES, IT WAS MY FAULT. I had borrowed it, but it had fallen out of my pocket on the way home from the grocery store. I HAD NO IDEA until I got that call. The very next day, my boss came into my office half-of-the-cubicle and told me my work ID was found in another city. WHAT THE HELL IS MY PROBLEM, you guys!? (Am also quite absentminded. I put the sugar dish in the fridge yesterday and spent way too long looking for it. So pathetic. I’m 23 with Alzheimer’s)
FOUR
I’m a tiny person. 5’1″, size 6 shoes, and XS/S clothes. I buy t-shirts that are youth mediums. I’ve gotten some awesome t-shirts from my little brother that way. I find it so difficult to find professional clothes that fit, what with my tiny, childlike proportions. A few weeks ago, I bought an Ann Taylor Loft jacket. It was 00P.
FIVE
My sister who is a year younger than I am is different in SO many ways. Not just the blonde/brunette thing, either. She’s a cheerleader, in a sorority, and is going into the business world. I am laid back, low maintenance, and so not into cheerleading, sororities, or the business world. (Obviously.) Growing up, boys in my grade would ask about her, talking about how hot she was. She had a million talents and outshone me in everything. (Except grades. And friends.) We had the ultimate sibling rivalry/hatred.
I am so thankful that we have come past all of that to be sisters that adore each other, and even, friends. She was the maid of honor in my wedding and has been there for me so many times. We’re still very, very different, but after moving so much, she’s one of the few people who knows me so well. (Mushy much?)
SIX
Switchfoot is my favorite band of all time. I’ve loved them since way before they released “Meant to Live” and have seen them in concert countless times. They are amazing and so talented, and surprisingly progressive. They sing about more than girls and love – it’s refreshing and I’m totally making myself want to go see them in concert, like, NOW.

Thanks for the tag, I’ll get to it soon, I promise!

One of my co-workers is very petite like you, too, and she has the same apparel challenges. I can sympathize with the hard to find shoes–I wear a 7 wide.
I’m tagging you for another one whenever you want to do it (but no fair making it all Switchfoot songs, ha ha).

Sam doesn’t feel like being vocal, it’s too late to call anyone, and I feel the need to be in some kind of conversation. My solution was to read through your old blog posts. Brilliant solution. It is sooooooooo your secret life.
End of story- I want that mocha muffin recipe. Know where you found it? Check out these AMAZING brownies I’ve become obsessed with. Perfect with a good cup of java… which I make in my electric coffee pot! I’m an environment killer! :-P
