This blog started out as a blog full of green tips for 20-somethings, so green living is near and dear to my heart.
To read about somee small (and big) ways in which we’re trying to live more simply and lightly:
Ask for foil instead of Styrofoam for leftovers.
Borrow instead of buy books.
Buy hormone-free, organic dairy when we can.
Buy in bulk to avoid packaging.
Buy second-hand clothing.
Clean everything with baking soda and vinegar.
Cloth diaper our son.
Collect shower water to flush toilet.
Compost. (err, not right now)
Cook from scratch often (like with dried beans).
Do ‘Buy Nothing’ month once or twice a year.
Don’t buy paper towels (even in public).
Don’t shower daily.
Drink fair trade, organic, shade grown coffee.
Drink tap, not bottled, water.
Eat vegetarian.
Flush selectively.
Live in an apartment.
Live in a walkable neighborhood.
One-car family.
Paperless billing.
Participate in a CSA.
Reuse (or don’t use) produce bags.
Reuse plastic sandwich bags.
Shampoo-free.
Turn the car off instead of idling.
Use a Diva Cup and Lunapads.
Use a travel coffee mug.
Use cloth shopping bags.
Use biodegradable powdered laundry and dishwasher detergent.
Use reusable toilet paper.
Wash clothes in cold water (and don’t dry clean).
