Our new city. Yay.
I…feel like making goals again. Setting intentions. Having some hopes and aspirations.
Screen detox for Theo* // I’ve been using screens to keep him busy while we packed and moved and unpacked without any family nearby to help, but it turns him into a MONSTER. Gabe can handle screens without losing it once his time is over, but toddler child is different. *(affffter our trip to Maine this weekend, driving in New England in Labor Day traffic requires screens.)
Finish unpacking // So we moved this past weekend. Mike convinced me to slooooowly unpack as we need stuff and then we’ll donate whatever we haven’t needed in a month (seasonal and items we’re saving for them to grow into notwithstanding), we’ll donated. Scary, but also moving sucks and having less to move next time sounds ideal.
Make fall fun list // We’re living in a town we LOVE in New England (we just moved this past weekend!) and it’s going to be fall soon. I need to make a list to maximize fun having. Pumpkins and apples and corn mazes and The Big E (aka: eating my way through New England)!
Floss daily // Most cliché goal ever, but, well, I’ve gotten out of the habit and I am going to the dentist this month and ORAL HYGIENE AHOY.
Find child care // Last year, I worked 2 days a week while Mike worked from home with the kids. It worked well, but this semester, I want to try getting a babysitter for two of the mornings he’s gone – then do Gabe’s education in the afternoon while Theo naps. (In addition to working a full day while Mike is home and Gabe’s at his nature program). I think we’d all benefit from getting a sitter to watch them – the boys love babysitters.
September. I can’t believe it! Gabe turned 6 yesterday. Time is crazy.

Ahm yes, time is crazy.
I am so happy to hear that you moved and that you’re ready to start your new life in your new community with setting goals :)

So excited for you guys about the big move!
We had the EXACT same problem after moving. Max was watching the iPad nonstop and getting super pissed when we took it away. After we moved and somewhat unpacked, we were able to get back to a more normal watching schedule and now he responds fine as long as we give him a warning. Hopefully Theo will get there!
Hope you have a great September!

I’m so glad you upgraded towns! So many familiar landmarks in that photo. It makes such a difference to live somewhere you love, even if the commute is harder on Mike.

I’m signing on to your flossing challenge! (I go to the dentist the first week of October.) We can do this.

Hurrah for the move! I am one commenter who previously said “spend the money because it’s worth it”! Also can’t believe you have a 6 year old. I’ve been reading since Gabe was born.

Ah, man, I miss New England so much! I’m so glad you guys are loving the new location.

SO glad you’re living in a place you love – that makes such a difference! I can’t wait to hear about how homeschooling goes – the whole idea of that initimidates the crap out of me – you’re such a rockstar!
Yes. September. I feel like I can take a deep inhale and just breathe.

I am glad it turned up so well for you and your family. You are right, time flies by lightning speed when it comes to kids, but that’s life :)

I so wish I could travel to New England for the Fall again, it’s truly the best. I’m trying to make a Fall to-do list too, but it’s not nearly as fun here, ha.

Girl, it was like 85 the past two days. (Though gonna be in the 60s this weekend, so I’ll miss it!!)
