1. I am in New Orleans (hopefully!) for the Blathering. I’m rooming with Kat (who I’ve known since college) and Amy (who I internet-love and will get to love in real life) and am just beyond excited to get to see a new city, fly alone for the first time in four years, and spend time with lots of women who I’ve adored for years. (YEARS! Maggie and Emily and Arwen were the very first blogs I ever read. In *college* with Kat. It’s all coming full-circle.)
2. Bangs are a lot less work than I anticipated. I blow dry them right after showering, then for the next few days, I just brush them out in the morning (with this brush). I am so glad I decided to branch out a bit and try something new! I feel sort of sassy, which…I’ve never felt about my hair in my whole life.
3. I spent about three hours on Tuesday looking up hotel reviews, flight schedules, pricing, ferry schedules, and transportation information for Puerto Rico. Now I’m confused all over again about whether we should go to Hawaii or Puerto Rico since the price seems to be much the same. Either way, I’ve lost several days of my life to researching this Christmas vacation. And nothing has even been booked. And then I think about bringing Gabe and figuring out the car seat situation and if we’ll get a rental car and…and…and….Aiiii. (Stress sound.)
4. This was the first week ever where I wrote most of this week’s posts on the weekend and scheduled them throughout the week. It will probably be my last time doing that because I lack the organization and dedication to do so.
5. The travel situation for this weekend involves a lot of insanity (from the juggling of childcare, one-car-ness, and a husband in class when my flight leaves, to arriving in New Orleans, but driving 5.5 hours and leaving from Birmingham because there were no afternoon flights from New Orleans), so I think I’ll be a little stunned if the transportation actually gets me to and from New Orleans.
6. The election is over. THE ELECTION IS OVER. As much as I say that and see the headlines, I still can’t believe it. I stayed up past 1:30 in the morning watching the results, waiting for the concession speech, then waiting for the president’s speech (which I crashed before). Sometimes I find myself thinking, “Well, after the election….” then I realize it *is* after the election.
7. My brain is fried from lack of sleep (election! late flights!), so here: My grandpa recently celebrated his 90th birthday with lots of his family. Here he is with five of his *14* children (my dad is second from the left.) (YES. FOURTEEN CHILDREN. Including TWO SETS OF TWINS. He deserves a medal.)

Did you just say twins run in your family? You better hope it doesn’t skip a generation. =)

We went to San Juan on our honeymoon – it was AMAZING. We didn’t rent a car – we took cabs everywhere we wanted to go (we had access to a lot of stuff around us too). San Juan is very walkable in the downtown – we stayed in Condado (a little outside the city) and it was AMAZING. The beaches are beautiful, the food is incredible and everything was incredibly reasonably priced – I loved it and would go back in a heartbeat :) If you have any other questions about PR email me :) :)

It was SO good to see you and hang out with you (albeit not nearly enough). You are adorable and I hope to see you in Charleston next year!
