Merry Christmas!
Hopefully you’re relaxing and not working and with family like we are. (If not, my sympathies! I so did that last year and it sucked.)
Family time aside, I wanted to share with you a super easy, pretty fun way to wrap gifts AND entertain a toddler all at the same time.
This year, we recycled copious amounts of Trader Joe’s bags into wrapping paper, like so:
Gabe finger painted, colored and generally had a blast getting messy. The presents aren’t the prettiest in the world, but apparently it behooves us to wrap gifts ugly, since it lowers people’s expectations about what they’re getting.
Underpromise and overdeliver, baby.

That is such a cute idea! I hope your Christmas was wonderful :)

Love the personalized touch added by Gabe! We did something similar for wrapping our presents this year – though, I like your idea of recycling paper bags instead of mine, which was using brown shipping paper!

I really really love this idea. Once we went to a friends birthday party a few years ago and all I had was Christmas paper so I asked TJ to have the boys color on the blank side and we’d wrap the present in that. Well, we went to the party and when they brought out our present and the kid opened it a few of the parents snickered and made a couple of jabs about how I had the kids color on Christmas paper.
Isn’t that rude?! Kinda blew me away. Anyway, I think this is darling and who the heck laughs at recycling, right!? ;) I bet it was a hit!
