First:
We did this –
Second:
And then there’s this –
I simplified my color palette, ditched the textured background in favor of actual whitespace and made navigating to my topic pages (frugal living, etc) easier. It also gives a sense of what you can find on my blog as soon as you land here. I simplified my sidebar so that it’s mostly just the frequently pinned posts. It’s always a work in progress with my blog design (like, I still need to add a search bar in my nav menu), but it’s a new era. Plus, it’s finally mobile-responsive without using a plugin!
Third:
And finally, I am so excited to announce that after many months and hours of hard work, the brand new Little Leaf is LIVE. It moved from littleleafdesign.com to littleleafdesign.com and has a whole new look:
It took so long because I branded myself differently than just a web designer – really honed in on the kinds of folks I love to work with and packed tons more information into my website. The Braid ecourse I took helped me with that, as well as dozens of books, podcasts, and blog posts. It was a major effort in getting my website to reflect my business – no more harsh black and green and being a generic web designer. I spent time defining myself, my business brand, and outline a direction I want to move in – then translated that to my website graphics and copy.
I am in love with what I get to do and want to attract more clients who are lucky enough to have passion-driven businesses and blogs, as well.
I’m super proud of the transformation – like my client testimonial page:
It went front drab and crowded to enticing and readable with links to check out their site, their portfolio page, and photos so they seem like real people (which…they are).
Since I need to stalk a company, restaurant, person, etc before I do business with them – I made sure to include plenty of info on the site for folks who want to learn more. From 5 reasons to hire me to FAQ to including a case study, I hope that potential clients can peruse the website and get a good idea of what it’s like to work with me.
Oh yeah: thanks.
As I’m blabbering on excitedly, I want to take a minute and say thank you. Yes, thank you. The majority of my design clients over the past few years have come from readers like you and referrals from readers. From freelancers telling the company they work for about me to fellow bloggers wanting a site design to folks suggesting me to their family members with small businesses – I am blessed beyond belief to have turned this passion of mine into what I do for a living. And honestly, if it wasn’t for this little blog of mine, it never would have happened.
I appreciate you continuing to share what I do with others you’d think would be a good fit.
I am thrilled. And excited. Here’s to new beginnings!

It all looks wonderful! Having you do our Save the Dates and wedding invites is still one of my favorite parts of our entire wedding process. You’re fabulous to work with and I have received comments (STILL) on how great they were. I also loved that I could use an individual rather than a huge company =)

Love the redesign, Ashley! It reflects the exact person you are on this blog (and in real life)! You should be proud that it’s come together, no matter how long it took!
(PS – somehow your blog was deleted from my Feedly – boo! So, I apologize for my recent silence … and for the onslaught of comments!)
